Our Story

GoHire actually started life as Arnott Plant Hire back in May 1995 under the watchful eye of Ken Arnott. Ken ran the business for a number of years until he retired in 2012 and sold the business to John Dickinson. Sally Wray bought the business in January 2015 after being sick of leading a conventional life working for the Council. She decided that the tool hire business would be much more exciting!

In April 2015, Sally renamed and rebranded the business GoHire. In November 2015, Sally moved the business to a larger premises in a more prominent location at Goulton Street and is visible from Clive Sullivan Way. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength and is 100% focused on providing the best customer service imaginable. Great investment has been made in ensuring that the fleet is up to date and in excellent condition.

The dream team at GoHire achieved the SafeHire certificate in February 2017 and is soon to be installing cutting edge technology to monitor the fleet and manage the internal processes. GoHire's team of tool experts provide a personal and knowledgeable service. Many of GoHire's customers consider GoHire to be an extension of their own team. GoHire is striving to be the best power tool and equipment service possible to service the needs of its customers, be they large, medium, small businesses or weekend DIYers.
